RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. delivers reinsurance and insurance solutions across the United States and globally. The company operates through two main divisions. The Property segment is dedicated to safeguarding insurance and reinsurance entities against both natural and man-made disasters—such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, fires, explosions, and acts of terrorism—chiefly by offering property catastrophe excess of loss and retrocessional reinsurance. This segment also extends its offerings to include proportional reinsurance, per-risk coverage, and multi-line facilities. The Casualty and Specialty segment manages a broad spectrum of products, including professional liability coverages like directors and officers, medical malpractice, and professional indemnity; various general liability policies such as automobile, employer's liability, workers' compensation, and umbrella policies; financial and specialty risks including mortgage guaranty, political risk, surety, and trade credit; and other specialized areas like accident and health, agriculture, aviation, cyber, energy, marine, satellite, and terrorism. The company primarily channels its services and products through intermediaries. Founded in 1993, RenaissanceRe is headquartered in Pembroke, Bermuda.
