Riley Financial, Inc., through its various subsidiaries, delivers a broad spectrum of investment banking and financial services to corporate clients, institutional investors, and affluent individuals across North America, Australia, and Europe. The company's operations are structured into six distinct divisions. The Capital Markets segment offers an extensive array of services, encompassing investment banking, corporate finance, financial advisory, research, securities lending, sales, and trading. It also facilitates mergers and acquisitions, provides restructuring advice, manages both initial and secondary public offerings, arranges institutional private placements, offers asset management, and engages in equity securities trading. The Wealth Management division focuses on providing personalized financial planning and tax services. Its Auction and Liquidation segment specializes in the orderly disposal of assets for retail stores, as well as wholesale and industrial businesses. Financial Consulting delivers expert guidance in bankruptcy, forensic accounting, litigation support, operational management, real estate consulting, and comprehensive valuation and appraisal services. The Principal Investments-Communications segment manages a portfolio of communication-related ventures, notably offering consumer internet access through United Online (under the NetZero and Juno brands), Voice over IP (VoIP) services via magicJack, and mobile phone services and devices through Marconi Wireless. Lastly, the Brands segment oversees and licenses a diverse collection of brand investments, including prominent names like Catherine Malandrino, English Laundry, Joan Vass, Kensie Girl, Limited Too, and Nanette Lepore. In addition to these specialized segments, the company also provides general advisory services, brokerage services, and offers senior and second-lien secured loans to public and private middle-market companies throughout the United States. Founded in 1973, the firm was initially known as Great American Group, Inc. before officially changing its name to B. Riley Financial, Inc. in November 2014, and is based in Los Angeles, California.
