PetroChina Company Limited, along with its affiliated entities, undertakes a broad spectrum of oil and gas operations and offerings, extending its reach across Mainland China and into global markets. The company's business is structured into four main divisions: Exploration and Production, Refining and Chemicals, Marketing, and Natural Gas and Pipeline. The Exploration and Production unit is dedicated to discovering, developing, extracting, and distributing crude oil and natural gas. The Refining and Chemicals segment focuses on processing crude oil and its derivatives, as well as manufacturing and selling fundamental petrochemicals, their by-products, and various other chemical substances. The Marketing division oversees the commercialization of refined petroleum products and engages in trading activities. Lastly, the Natural Gas and Pipeline segment manages the transmission of natural gas, crude oil, and refined products, in addition to selling natural gas. As of December 31, 2021, PetroChina commanded an extensive pipeline network totaling 26,076 kilometers. This included 17,329 km for natural gas, 7,340 km for crude oil, and 1,407 km for refined products. Beyond these core activities, the firm is also involved in the exploration, development, and output of unconventional resources like oil sands and coalbed methane. Its endeavors further encompass the trading of crude oil and petrochemical products, the management of storage infrastructure, chemical engineering projects, service stations, and diverse transportation assets. Additionally, PetroChina handles the manufacturing and sale of foundational, derivative, and other specialized chemical products. Established in 1999, the corporation's principal administrative offices are located in Beijing, People's Republic of China. PetroChina Company Limited operates as a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation.
