PG&E Corporation, primarily operating through its subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, serves as a utility provider responsible for supplying electricity and natural gas. Its operational footprint extends across northern and central California in the United States. The company diversifies its electricity generation, harnessing power from nuclear, hydroelectric, fossil fuel-fired, fuel cell, and solar (photovoltaic) sources. By the close of 2021, its extensive infrastructure network included approximately 18,000 circuit miles of interconnected transmission lines, backed by 33 electric transmission substations. Furthermore, it managed around 108,000 circuit miles of distribution lines, 67 transmission switching substations, and 753 distribution substations. The natural gas segment comprised approximately 43,800 miles of distribution pipelines, about 6,200 miles of backbone and local transmission pipelines, and a suite of storage facilities. PG&E caters to a broad spectrum of clients, encompassing residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural users, as well as natural gas-fired electric generation plants. This long-standing company, founded in 1905, is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
