The Enterprise segment focuses on deploying speech recognition, natural language understanding, and AI to deliver automated customer service and solutions across various communication channels, including voice, mobile, web, and messaging. This segment features intelligent engagement solutions, Conversational AI, Engagement AI, and Security AI. A separate Other segment offers voicemail transcription services. Nuance caters to a broad spectrum of industries, including healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, government, and retail. The company markets and distributes its technologies globally through a direct sales team, alongside a comprehensive network of channel partners such as system integrators, independent software vendors, value-added resellers, distributors, hardware vendors, telecommunications carriers, and e-commerce platforms. Initially incorporated in 1992 as ScanSoft, Inc., the company rebranded to Nuance Communications, Inc. in October 2005. Headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, Nuance Communications, Inc. has been a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation since March 4, 2022.
