Additionally, Voruciclib, an oral cyclin-dependent kinase 9 inhibitor, is undergoing Phase Ib clinical trials for acute myeloid leukemia and other B-cell malignancies. The company is also advancing ME-344, a mitochondrial inhibitor that targets the oxidative phosphorylation complex, through Phase I development for HER2-negative breast cancer. Completing its portfolio is Pracinostat, an orally administered histone deacetylase inhibitor, which is being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial for myelodysplastic syndrome. MEI Pharma has forged strategic collaborations, including comprehensive license, development, and commercialization agreements with Kyowa Kirin Company and Helsinn Healthcare SA (the latter also encompassing manufacturing). Founded in 2000 as Marshall Edwards, Inc., the company rebranded to MEI Pharma, Inc. in July 2012 and maintains its corporate headquarters in San Diego, California.
