What HF Sinclair does

HollyFrontier Corporation functions as an independent entity involved in the refining and marketing of petroleum products across the United States. Its operations are structured into three key divisions: Refining, Lubricants and Specialty Products, and HEP. The company primarily manufactures high-value, light-end products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel, alongside specialized lubricants and various asphalt derivatives. These products are supplied to a diverse clientele, including other refiners, convenience store networks, independent distributors, retailers of liquid petroleum gases, truck stop operators, wholesalers, railway companies, governmental agencies, paving contractors, and commercial airlines. The corporation owns and manages five refineries, collectively processing approximately 554,000 barrels of crude oil per day. These facilities are located in El Dorado, Kansas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Anacortes, Washington; Artesia, New Mexico; and Woods Cross, Utah. Additionally, it operates vacuum distillation units and other processing sites in Lovington, New Mexico, along with asphalt terminals situated in Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The refined products from these facilities predominantly serve markets within the Mid-Continent, Southwest, and Rocky Mountain regions of the U.S. Beyond its refining activities, HollyFrontier produces base oils and other specialized lubricating products. It also maintains an extensive network of logistics assets, which comprise pipelines for both petroleum products and crude oil, storage terminals, tankage, loading racks, and specific refinery processing infrastructure. Originally established as Holly Corporation in 1947, the company adopted the name HollyFrontier Corporation following its merger with Frontier Oil Corporation in July 2011. Its corporate headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas.
