First Republic Bank, headquartered in San Francisco, California, was established in 1985. Through its various subsidiaries, the institution focuses on delivering specialized private banking, private business banking, and private wealth management solutions to clients situated in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. The bank's operations are segmented into two core divisions: Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. First Republic offers a comprehensive suite of deposit products designed to meet diverse financial needs. These include both interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing checking accounts, various money market accounts for checking and savings, traditional passbook savings, and certificates of deposit. Furthermore, the bank extends a broad range of lending facilities to individuals and businesses. Its loan portfolio features residential mortgages, home equity lines of credit, loans for multifamily dwellings, commercial real estate and construction financing, personal loans, business loans, and specific single-family construction loans. These credit offerings are typically collateralized by single-family residences, multifamily buildings, or commercial real estate assets. The Wealth Management division provides extensive advisory and financial services. Clients have access to diverse investment strategies and products, online investment management platforms, trust and custody services, full-service and online brokerage options, financial and estate planning, and opportunities in alternative investments. This segment also delivers general investing guidance, insurance solutions, and foreign exchange services. Complementing its core offerings, First Republic facilitates modern online and mobile banking services, provides refinancing assistance, and issues essential banking tools such as ATM and debit cards. As of December 31, 2021, the bank maintained a significant physical presence with 82 licensed deposit-taking offices. These branches are strategically located in key metropolitan centers, primarily across California (including San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Newport Beach, and San Diego), but also extending to Portland (Oregon), Boston (Massachusetts), Palm Beach (Florida), Greenwich (Connecticut), New York (New York), and Jackson (Wyoming). In addition to these, First Republic also operated 12 specialized offices dedicated to lending, wealth management, or trust services.
