Its natural gas sales cater to a broad clientele, from electric utilities and independent power producers to local distribution companies and industrial end-users. The company's operations also encompass substantial natural gas gathering, natural gas liquid (NGL) pipelines, processing plants, and treatment facilities spread across numerous states, including Texas, New Mexico, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Louisiana. Specialized assets include natural gas gathering, oil pipelines, and oil stabilization facilities in South Texas, a gas gathering system in Ohio, and water transportation services for natural gas producers in Pennsylvania. Energy Transfer maintains a significant NGL footprint, featuring roughly 5,215 miles of NGL pipelines, alongside NGL and propane fractionation facilities. Its NGL storage capacity is substantial, with about 50 million barrels (MMBbls) of working storage and an additional 17 MMBbls in other storage assets and terminals. Beyond natural gas and NGLs, the firm engages in crude oil transportation, terminal operations, acquisition, and marketing. It also markets and distributes various refined petroleum products such as gasoline, middle distillates, and motor fuels. Ancillary services include natural gas compression, removal of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, gas cooling, dehydration, and British thermal unit (BTU) management. The company also oversees coal and natural resource properties, involving activities like selling timber, leasing coal infrastructure, collecting oil and gas royalties, and generating electricity. Energy Transfer LP was established in 1996, is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and adopted its current name in October 2018, having previously operated as Energy Transfer Equity, L.P.
