Through its Investment Management and Research division, the company offers a broad spectrum of investment management, research, and related services to institutional, retail, and private wealth clients, additionally distributing its specialized research offerings. The Protection Solutions segment delivers a range of life insurance products—such as variable universal, indexed universal, and term life—to affluent individuals and owners of small and medium-sized businesses. This segment also extends group insurance coverage, encompassing life, short- and long-term disability, dental, and vision benefits, to small and medium-sized enterprises. Founded in 1859 and based in New York, New York, the company adopted its current name, Equitable Holdings, Inc., in January 2020, having previously been known as AXA Equitable Holdings, Inc.
