The company's operations are divided into several key divisions: The Electric segment is responsible for generating, purchasing, distributing, and selling electricity to residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout southeastern Michigan. The Gas segment procures, stores, transports, distributes, and sells natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial clients across Michigan, in addition to offering storage and transportation capacity. DTE Vantage concentrates on projects that deliver energy and utility-style products and services to industrial, commercial, and institutional entities, manufactures reduced emissions fuel, and sells electricity and pipeline-quality gas generated from renewable sources. The Energy Trading segment manages the company's energy marketing and trading activities. Finally, the Corporate and Other segment includes holding company functions, oversees certain non-utility debt and investments, and provides funding for regional development and economic expansion initiatives. The company was founded in January 1995 and its headquarters are located in Detroit, Michigan.
