The company operates through two main divisions: Global Consumer Banking (GCB) and Institutional Clients Group (ICG). The GCB division focuses on retail customers, providing traditional banking services like retail accounts, Citi-branded credit cards, and other Citi retail financial products. It also extends various banking, credit card, lending, and investment facilities through its network of physical branches, offices, and digital platforms. Conversely, the ICG segment offers extensive wholesale banking products and services. These include sales and trading of fixed income and equities, foreign exchange operations, prime brokerage, derivatives, in-depth equity and fixed income analysis, corporate financing, investment banking advisory services, private wealth management, treasury solutions, international trade financing, and securities custodial services. Its clientele for these specialized offerings comprises corporate entities, institutional investors, public sector bodies, and high-net-worth individuals. As of December 31, 2020, Citigroup maintained 2,303 operational branches, predominantly located in the United States, Mexico, and Asia. The firm was established in 1812 and its headquarters are situated in New York, New York.
