Within its Regulated Services Group, Algonquin possesses and manages regulated infrastructure for electricity, water distribution, wastewater collection, and natural gas utility systems, alongside associated transmission operations. As of December 31, 2023, these services catered to approximately 1,256,000 customer connections. This total comprises roughly 309,000 electric connections, 572,000 water and wastewater connections, and 375,000 natural gas connections. Its electrical distribution systems, along with related transmission and generation assets, are situated in various U.S. states including Arkansas, California, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Oklahoma, as well as in Bermuda. The company's regulated water and wastewater utility systems are established in U.S. states such as Arizona, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Missouri, New York, and Texas, and also extend to Chile. Furthermore, its regulated natural gas distribution systems serve customers in the Canadian province of New Brunswick and the U.S. states of Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, and New York. The Renewable Energy Group focuses on generating assets, with Algonquin owning facilities boasting a gross capacity of approximately 2.0 gigawatts (GW) and holding investments in other generating assets contributing about 0.3 GW of net capacity. This segment is responsible for producing and marketing electrical energy, capacity, ancillary products, and renewable energy attributes from its diverse portfolio of clean power generation sites. These facilities encompass hydroelectric, wind, solar, renewable natural gas, and thermal technologies. By the close of 2023, the combined net generating capacity attributed to the Renewable Energy Group stood at approximately 2.7 GW. Established in 1988, Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. maintains its headquarters in Oakville, Canada.
