Amerant Bancorp Inc. functions as the holding company for Amerant Bank, N.A., delivering a comprehensive range of banking and financial services to both individual consumers and corporate clients within the United States and on an international scale. Its core offerings encompass various deposit accounts, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and money market accounts. The company extends a diverse portfolio of lending solutions. These include both variable and fixed-rate commercial real estate loans, mortgages for properties occupied by their owners, and personal loans for domestic and foreign individuals primarily secured by their residences. For businesses, Amerant provides working capital loans, asset-based lending, participations in shared national credits, purchased receivables, and Small Business Administration (SBA) loans. Furthermore, it offers credit to financial institutions, acceptances, consumer loans, and overdraft services. Beyond conventional banking, Amerant Bancorp delivers specialized trust and estate planning, investment advisory and brokerage services in global capital markets, and comprehensive wealth management and fiduciary services. For client convenience, the company issues debit and credit cards, supports remote deposit capture, and offers robust online and mobile banking platforms. Additional services include night depository, direct deposit, treasury management, cashier's checks, safe deposit boxes, letters of credit, and automated teller machine (ATM) access. As of April 10, 2020, its physical network comprised 27 banking centers, with 19 situated in South Florida and 8 in Houston, Texas. The company also maintained loan production offices in Dallas, Texas, and New York. Founded in Coral Gables, Florida, in 1979, the organization was formerly known as Mercantil Bank Holding Corporation until its rebranding to Amerant Bancorp Inc. in June 2019.
