What OEI does

The Optimized Equity Income ETF (OEI) allocates roughly 90% of its assets to U.S. large-cap equities, integrating an active options strategy to achieve its objectives. Stock selection is a dual process: a top-down market assessment considers factors like value, quality, and volatility, while bottom-up research scrutinizes company fundamentals and future earnings potential. To bolster income beyond dividends, the fund strategically sells out-of-the-money (OTM) call options. These options are typically written on 25-75% of its equity holdings—either individual stocks, equity indexes, or other ETFs—and generally mature within one to six months. In addition to selling calls, OEI may also purchase OTM put options for downside protection and OTM call options to retain some upside exposure. This approach aims to provide a consistent income stream and reduce overall volatility compared to traditional equity investments, although the strategy's call-writing component naturally caps significant gains during strong market uptrends. Investors should also be aware that the fund may experience a high rate of portfolio turnover.
