VegaShares SPX NDX RTY Premium Income (ODTE) ETF Holdings & Analysis

What ODTE does
The fund is managed through an active covered call strategy, utilizing the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and Russell 2000 benchmarks. Its investment approach is guided by a quantitative framework that dynamically modifies its holdings and covered call overlay in response to market volatility, liquidity conditions, and anticipated returns. The fund obtains its long exposure to these indexes via direct investments, exchange-traded funds designed to mirror index performance, or synthetically through deep in-the-money call options. It generates income by selling out-of-the-money index call options with very short maturities, typically expiring in zero or one day. This premium collection facilitates weekly income distributions. Although this strategy aims to deliver consistent income, it simultaneously restricts upside potential should the underlying indexes surge past the options' strike prices. The options employed are primarily listed on U.S. exchanges and may also encompass FLEX options. To potentially improve tax efficiency, the fund may use index futures contracts, which could be subject to a more favorable 60/40 tax rule instead of being taxed as ordinary income. The fund aims to provide distributions on a weekly basis, which could at times include a return of capital.
