What MFVL does

The Motley Fool Value Factor ETF (MFVL) is a passively managed fund designed to mirror the performance of US companies that the issuer identifies as undervalued relative to their fundamental financial health. Its underlying index meticulously examines a carefully chosen universe of highly-regarded companies recommended by Motley Fool, ultimately selecting the top 100 firms based on specific valuation criteria. To determine a company's attractiveness as a value investment, the selection process integrates three distinct, proprietary scoring mechanisms: an adjusted book-to-price ratio, the gross profits-to-enterprise value (EV) ratio, and the total shareholder yield. Although the index undergoes rebalancing every three months, its holdings might at times be heavily concentrated within a particular industry. Additionally, the fund may engage in lending its securities to generate extra revenue.
