What IBDC does
The iShares iBonds Mar 2020 Term Corporate ETF (IBDC) aims to replicate the investment performance of the Bloomberg Barclays 2020 Maturity Corporate Index. This index comprises U.S. dollar-denominated, investment-grade corporate debt instruments specifically chosen to mature between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2020. Typically, the fund allocates at least 90% of its assets to the securities included in this benchmark, which can involve direct or indirect holdings via other funds. This allocation strategy may be adjusted during the final operational months of the ETF. The index itself selects publicly issued corporate bonds, denominated in U.S. dollars and considered investment-grade, from both domestic and international issuers. A key criterion for inclusion is that these securities must possess an outstanding face value of at least $300 million at the time they are added to the index.
