What ESUS does

ESUS offers a leveraged bullish investment in the MSCI USA ESG Focus Index, which comprises large and mid-capitalization companies recognized for their positive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) attributes, while aiming for a market-comparable risk and return profile. The index initially screens out companies involved with tobacco, controversial weapons, fossil fuel extraction, and thermal coal power. The portfolio is then optimized to maximize its ESG exposure while adhering to a market-like representation, subject to specific parameters. This underlying index undergoes rebalancing quarterly. Due to its 2x leverage factor, which resets quarterly, ESUS is not suitable for a long-term buy-and-hold strategy and investors should not expect it to consistently provide twice the index's daily returns. Furthermore, as an Exchange Traded Note (ETN), ESUS's value is subject to the credit risk of its issuer, UBS.
