What DACL does
The Fund is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to generate monthly income with enhanced downside mitigation by tracking the Bloomberg US Large Cap VolMax Defensive Autocallable Index. It gains exposure primarily through unfunded total return swap agreements referencing a laddered portfolio of roughly 252 to 1,260 synthetic autocallable contracts tied to a volatility-targeted equity index (itself derived from a broad large-cap benchmark). Each contract pays a monthly coupon of SOFR plus 3% if the reference index stays above a coupon barrier, is automatically called away if the reference index reaches its starting level, and carries a 50% risk buffer at five-year maturity below which losses are doubled by a 200% gearing factor. The Fund also holds short-term U.S. Treasuries, cash equivalents, and box spreads as swap collateral, and is classified as non-diversified.
