What BCM does
The Barclays Commodity Index Pure Beta Total Return (known as the "index") is composed of a diverse range of exchange-traded futures contracts. Its objective is to mirror the potential earnings an investor might gain from a direct, unleveraged holding of futures tied to various physical commodities. A defining characteristic is that, for each commodity, the index has the flexibility to transition its exposure to one of several futures contracts, each possessing distinct maturity dates. This particular selection strategy is implemented following the guidelines of the Barclays Pure Beta Series 2 Methodology.
